Young South Australian Wingless Sprint driver, Jarman Dalitz, has been selected to participate in the 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Star Program.
Jarman hails from Murray Bridge in South Australia, and at 18 years of age has been involved in motorsport for 13 years. After spending 9 successful years on bitumen in go-karts, Jarman made the move to Speedway in 2009 when he stepped into a Wingless Sprintcar.
After a season of adjusting to the new style of racing, Jarman's results began to improve every race meeting. In 2010/11, the Rising Star captured his first feature race victory and posted impressive series results, finishing 2nd in the Wingless Sprint Easter Trail and the Murray Bridge Track Championship as well as a 3rd place in the Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series.
Jarman has regularly posted podium finishes during the 2011/12 season, currently placing 6th in the Speedway City Track Championship and 4th in the Oval Track Imports Wingless Sprint Series.
Jarman's aim in Speedway is to earn a drive in the Sprintcar category, and he hopes to use what he learns during the 2012 Speedway Australia Rising Star Program to help realise that dream.
"I believe the Rising Star Program offers the best platform for young drivers to make a move into racing Sprintcars in the future," said Jarman.
"I hope to use the program to help me improve my promotional skills, my fitness and nutrition, and ensure I am performing to the best of my abilities."
Participants in the 2012 Rising Star Program will travel to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra during the first half of the year for an intensive 3 day camp with Australia's best sporting trainers and experts.
